YouTube to Set Dislikes Button Count to Private. Is it good or bad?

YouTube Is Turning Off Dislike Button Count. Good or bad?

As per the latest update by YouTube on its YouTube Creators Channel, it says, they are ready to roll out the new turning off of counts of Dislike button for users hence forth for all the channels and videos. Howevers, viewers can still see the dislike button and dislike any video.

You may check out the video here by YouTube:

This is what YouTube says:

"Earlier in 2021, YouTube experimented with making the public dislike count private to see if it would help reduce dislike attacks across the platform. And after analysis conducted in July of this year, we did see a reduction. Now, the YouTube public dislike count will be made private (but the dislike button is staying). Viewers can still dislike videos, and that action will be used to tune their personal recommendations. But, viewers won’t be able to see the dislike count -- only creators can see it in YouTube Studio."

So going forward, viewers will not be able to see number of dislikes for any video. Though they can still dislike a video.

The count of dislikes will only be visible to video creators in their YouTube Studio.

This move may be good or may be bad for creators. Some liked it and some didn't on social media.

We don't know how this is going to affect creators. Hopefully, this should help creators improve the quality of their contents at the back end if they are receiving enough number of dislikes privately.
